In The Green Circle - 7/3/07
beneath the poe tree
a cloud of wings lift
me and I rise and converge
with all the poems
ever written, and my
heavy limbs fall away
as I hear your voices
your lyric cadence
frog throats and cricket
legs and the swale
full of water this night
before Independence.
